Could your child have retained reflexes?
Primitive Reflexes
Primitive Reflexes are reflexes which should be present at birth, to help babies survive, thrive and adapt to life in our world.
Most of these automatic responses should disappear in the first year of life, to be replaced by mature reflexes. If they don’t, all sorts of difficulties can occur, including problems with reading, writing, attention, and behavior.
The babies and children on the following pages introduce three of the Primitive Reflexes, explaining some of their functions and the common effects of retaining them.
For example: Moro Reflex
